Amanda R. Khiterman is a Certified Family Law Specialist with a passion for helping clients navigate challenging family matters with clarity and conviction. With nearly her entire legal career devoted exclusively to family law, she brings a depth of courtroom and negotiation experience that few can match.

Ms. Khiterman has successfully litigated a wide array of cases—from recurring custody and support issues to complex move-away requests and high-conflict restraining orders. Her experience spans multi-day trials, domestic violence proceedings, civil harassment proceedings, and mediation. She is a strong advocate for her clients and when approriate, advocates for alternative dispute resolution to help clients avoid litigation through strategic negotiation.

As a first-generation American speaking both Russian and English, Amanda brings unique cultural awareness and communication skills to her practice. Before co-founding PLBK, she earned recognition as a senior associate at a top San Diego family law firm. She is licensed to practice in California, New York, and New Jersey.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY Amanda’s background instilled in her a relentless work ethic and deep respect for advocacy. She graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with dual B.A. degrees in Legal Studies and Communication, and earned her J.D. from California Western School of Law. Her academic achievements include publication by Oxford Press and pro bono service awards, including the State Bar of California Wiley W. Manuel Certificate.

Outside of her legal practice, Amanda enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.
