Brenda Lopez is a Certified Family Law Specialist with a strong record of successfully litigating complex family law matters across San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and Imperial Counties. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she brings a powerful blend of cultural awareness, legal acumen, and unwavering dedication to every client she serves.
Ms. Lopez has handled a broad spectrum of cases, from intricate financial disputes to sensitive non-economic matters. Her leadership in the legal community is extensive—she currently serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association Scholarship Fund, an organization supporting equity and advancing the Latino/a or Spanish-speaking community. She also volunteers for the San Diego Superior Court as a pro-tem mediating family law cases.
A first-generation attorney, Ms. Lopez earned her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Chicana/o Studies from San Diego State University and later her J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. During law school, she worked full-time as a legal assistant and became a Certified Legal Intern, gaining invaluable courtroom experience. After admission to the California State Bar in 2012, she opened her own law practice and has since served in both solo and large-firm capacities before becoming a partner at PLBK.
Outside the courtroom, Brenda is committed to giving back—volunteering in domestic violence clinics, mentoring foster youth, working with underserved schoolchildren, and assisting seniors in her local community.
